I recently finished a few pieces for a customer and she just sent me after photos of the finished room. It turned out beautiful! So pretty that I wanted to do a quick post on it:)
This is the front room in her house what you would walk into through the front door. She already has a family room and wanted to make this a function space for the whole family to be able to use and stay organized but because it is the first room every walks into when entering the house...look pretty as well.
We started off talked a bit about fabric because she was looking for something a little different for window treatments, something with color. Because I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fabric (by Tonic Living called "sweet william") and was to sissy to use as my own window treatments, I quickly suggested it for hers. Thank goodness she instantly fell in love with it because it became the jump off point for the furniture pieces and the rest of the room. She sewed them herself and they turned out beautiful! I am kicking myself for not using them myself...I just may have to be a copy cat:)
We pulled out the pretty dark blue in the fabric and sprayed the desk and hutch in SW "Deep Sea Dive". The hutch and modern chair where sprayed out in SW "creamy".
How cute is this chair with the ottoman that she had professionally reupholstered?! Love her color choices.
Everything just looks so great and blends together well. The room belongs in a magazine.
Makes me want to lay down the spray gun and focus on my own house!
Nice job Michelle:)

PRETTY YELLOW FRENCH PROVINCIAL
How pretty did this piece turn out! Yellow can be pretty tricky, go to light and it looks just creamy white, go to bright and it can be to "loud". My customer made a great choice with this color by BM called Hawthorne Yellow. Perfect for her daughters bedroom.
I am constantly impressed with my new sprayer and this lacquer product. The finish is so perfect!
Here is a before. Such a great solid John Widdicomb piece, but definitely needed an update.
Like most french provincial pieces, only the original hardware would do this piece justice.

MY LOVE FOR CORAL CONTINUES....
I was soooo excited when my customer wanted me to paint this sweet desk for her in one of my all time favorite colors! She saw the "diamond in the rough" piece in my inventory and instantly knew it would be perfect for her space.
It was an old desk and needed a lot of TLC with all the dings it had, but it is made of solid wood and sturdy. The glass knobs helped make this pretty thing even prettier:)
Look at this sad, sad desk before I got my hands on it:( All ugly and alone with no hardware.

HELLO HIGH GLOSS!!
I am loving how this beautiful French Provincial vintage dresser turned out! It looks so glamorous with the high gloss black finish! I'm glad we kept the original hardware too, I really don't think anything else would have worked as well.
OMG! My photography skills are seriously lacking! I have an awesome new camera but need to spend some time learning how to take good pics. Usually I just snap a few pictures on different settings hoping one turns out OK...I WILL work on it. PROMISE!
Here is the before pic..BORING!!!

AN AWESOME HUBBY AND 2 VINTAGE LAMPS
Now, if I posted every time my husband did something nice for me I would be posting every day, and be very annoying...but I have to mention how awesome my husband is!!!!
Marc spent ALL weekend building me a legit spray booth. Framed and air tight, complete with updated lighting, door and a better exhaust/ventilation system. I couldn't run this little business, which has kept me busier than I ever dreamed, without him. He is always hooking me up with everything I need and helping me move things up and down the steps, delivering pieces to my customers, picking up pieces when I can't and getting my paint for me, without any complaints...LOVE HIM!!
Jack was a good helper too. He did the Lowes runs with dad and helped carry all the 2x4's down.
Unfortunately the paint was chipping off on the inside, but loved the shape and the vintage glass
Here they all all stripped of the old paint. Can hardly see the pretty detail on the glass when it's clear
I knew I was going to spray the bases gold (Valspar Metallic gold) and really liked the pink that was originally in it, so I mixed up a few colors to achieve a similar color.
Can't even stand how pretty they are! Some nice white modern shades will be perfect.

Working on the ventilation
Might not look to fancy, but it's perfect for what I need!!!
SOOO, because my paint booth was under construction and there is no way I can just relax, I did a little lamp redo I have been trying to find time for
I found these beauties as an estate sale. Along with a chair reupholstering fetish, I also have a lamp fetish.
Unfortunately the paint was chipping off on the inside, but loved the shape and the vintage glass
I took it all apart I was plesantly suprised to find that all I needed was some really hot water and a brush to get the old paint to loosen up. I NEVER get this lucky. I was expecting it to be super glued on and I was going to have to soak it in lacquer thinner or stripper.
I know, isn't my sink gross! I swear I clean it!

HARDWARE FINISH OPTIONS BOARD
Sometimes I refinish the original hardware on the furniture pieces for my clients. Often the hardware is great, just not the right finish, not to mention it helps them save money by not buying new.
I did a post back a few months ago on my hardware refinishing system but every time a client and I talked finish options....the cap on the spray can just wasn't helping, so I decided to make a "hardware board" with the different finish options. This has helped so much!
I will add more options along the way...
